Iron Man 2

Recently released to Playtech casinos, Iron Man 2 is a 5-reel slot with a very unique design. This new slot, based on the hit movie, features 25 paylines, a wild symbol, unique design, and a free spins bonus feature with an increasing multiplier.

What makes this slot unique is the design of some of the symbols, which are basically two of the same symbols stacked on top of each other, but one image covers both positions on the reel. See the screenshot below if you need clarification.

Also available are 4 levels of progressive jackpots that can be won on any spin.

Free Spins are triggered when three or more scatter symbols land on the reels during a single spin. You are awarded 10 free spins with an increasing multiplier. You start with a multiplier of x2 and that increases by one with every two spins, so the last two free spins are multiplied by 6. Free spins cannot be re-triggered.

I haven’t had much of a chance to play this slot, but so far I enjoy playing it. It’s nice to see that they can still come up with unique ideas for these online slots, and I think it looks really neat with larger symbols. The few chances I have had to play this slot, it was fairly good to me and gave me free spins a within a decent amount of time.

Play Iron Man 2 now at any of these Playtech Casinos.

New RTG Slots Jan-Mar 2011

Three new slots have recently been released to RTG casinos. As with Playtech, not all RTG casinos get the same new slots added at the same time. Club World Casinos seem to be a little slow getting them, but that’s OK because they pay fast.

Basketbull is the latest of the three, featuring 25 paylines, wild symbols, and a free spins bonus feature. Hit three or more scatters to trigger the bonus, you get one ‘free throw’ for each scatter symbol. You are initially given 3 free spins and each successful free throw attempt doubles the number of free spins. If you trigger the bonus with five scatters and sink all your free throws, you will get 96 free spins. Basketbull also has both minor and major random jackpots.

It’s a Mystery also features 25 paylines, wild symbols, and a free spins feature. Hit 3 or more scatters to trigger the bonus. You are then taken to the Portrait Puzzle Feature where puzzles are shuffled three or more times, depending on the number of scatters that triggered the feature. You can win up to 50 free spins with up to a x6 multiplier, and you can also win cash prizes up to 500 times your bet for completing a puzzle.

Lucky Tiger features 88 paylines, stacked wilds on reels 1 and 5, and three different bonus features. When three or more scatters land, choose one to reveal the feature. Each one is quite different, but they all have potential for some very nice wins. My favorite is the Fortune Feature with two of the symbols acting as extra wilds.

See the RTG Slots page for more information on each of these slots once I play them enough to write a review.

New Playtech Slots Jan-Mar 2011

Three new slots have hit Playtech online casinos in the first quarter of 2011.

Kong: The 8th Wonder of the World is a feature packed slot based on the 2005 King Kong movie, featuring characters and images from the film and two different play modes – Jungle Mode and Big City Mode. This 5-reel slot has 20 paylines, wild symbols, and each game mode has two bonus features, for a total of four different bonus features. The only casino that I know has this game so far is SIA Casino, but that’s a good thing because it’s a great casino. You can read more about this slot on the Playtech Slots page after I get a chance to play it for a while.

The Deal or No Deal slot, also found at Casino.com, features 20 paylines, wild symbols, and progressive jackpots that are quite big. Hitting three or more scatters can trigger one of three bonus features. The Reel Banker bonus awards free spins that run until the banker symbol lands on the middle reel. The Banker’s Best Offer bonus gives you 10 different cash offers from the banker, offers are valued up to 20 times the triggering bet. Finally, play the game like it’s played on TV in the third bonus feature to win the progressive jackpots. Right now (Mar. 15th, 2011) the highest Deal or No Deal jackpot at Casino.com is $142,816.

The Iron Man 2 slot is definitely unique. Many of the symbols are basically stacked two symbols high, but one image takes up both spots. See the screenshot below, it looks pretty neat. This slot features 25 paylines, wild symbols, a free spins bonus feature, and is linked to the Marvel progressive jackpot network. Three or more scatters awards 10 free spins starting with a x2 multiplier, and the multiplier increases by one every two spins. The wild symbol appears in the center position of the center reel for all 10 free spins. This slot can be found at most Playtech Casinos.

Grand Slam of Slots II

The Grand Slam of Slots tournament is back with bigger prizes than ever! The first GSOS tournament held in 2009 resulted in the first online slots tournament millionaire, and this year there is a special prize of $2.43 Million in gold.

On top of that golden prize, there is a minimum prize pool of $290,000 with a guaranteed grand prize of $100,000. The prize pool depends on the number of players participating in the tournament, and there is a limit of 5000 players.

This tournament is held by Microgaming through the many participating Microgaming Casinos who have tickets to give away as prizes in the many feeder tournaments and special promotions, starting today March 14, 2011.

How the Tournament Works

Starting on March 14th, participating casinos (shown below) will begin holding regular feeder tournaments with entries to the GSOS final as the prizes. There are also various other promotions at these casinos offering players additional ways to win tickets to the final tournament.

To increase your chances of winning a ticket, all you really have to do is play at your favorite Microgaming Casinos. The more casinos you play at, the more variety of chances you will have to win a ticket. You can also win several tickets this way because entries to the final are only limited to one per alias, not one per person. You have to create a different alias for each casino that you play tournaments at.

Each casino has their own terms, so make sure you read them. Most state that you must be a depositing player, and at Red Flush for example you have to have deposited over $100 and wagered over $3000 to play in the final. Since there is two months before the final, that’s not a hard thing to do if you just play at the casino few times.

Once you have your tickets to the finals, all you have to do is wait until May 27th when the GSOS II Final starts. The prize table for the final is shown to the right, but that will change once the number of players is known. The more players there are, the bigger the prize pool gets.

The nice thing I noticed is that there are only 5 continues. Sure that will cost $100, but it’s definitely worth it if you start with a good run, and not a bad investment if you win the $100,000.

The first player to complete the Thunderstruck II paytable achievements will win the special prize of $2.43 Million in gold bullion. A re-buy will reset the paytable. I’m not yet sure what happens if nobody completes the achievements, I didn’t see anything about the gold being guaranteed to be given away, but I hope someone wins it.

Intercasino Review

InterCasino runs on Cryptologic software which features many great online casino games. Types of games include slots, video poker, roulette, blackjack, craps, baccarat, and other popular casino games. I am more of a slots player and there is a very good variety of entertaining slots to play at Intercasino.

Some of their slots include big movie names like Forrest Gump and Braveheart, as well as slots based on popular video games like Call of Duty, Street Fighter, and Bejewelled. There is also a collection of Marvel and DC comic themed slots with progressive jackpots. In fact, many of their slots feature progressive jackpots.

The first few times I played there, I didn’t deposit very much and was low-rolling just to get a feel for as many of their slots as I could. I got very good play time out of my small deposits and could have cashed out a couple of times but decided to keep playing.

Just recently I decided to make another small deposit and play there again, and to my surprise I hit the small random jackpot (or “Spooky Jackpot”) on the Vampire Bats slot for $335 on a $0.25 bet. That was actually the first random jackpot I have hit anywhere, and I couldn’t believe it paid on a 25 cent bet. I know it says it can pay on any spin, and betting more increases your chances, but I was quite shocked to see it on the minimum bet.

I requested a withdrawal after playing for a while longer, expecting the normal delays that usually happen with a first withdrawal at online casinos like sending in documents to verify your ID, only to wake up the next morning to find they had paid me in less than 12 hours after my request.

Usually when I say withdrawals are processed quickly, it’s within 24-48 hours of your request, but an online casino that pays in less than 12 hours is definitely worth playing at, and it doesn’t hurt that they have great games too.

InterCasino uses US dollars for currency and offers many different options for depositing and withdrawing from the casino, including Moneybookers, credit cards, and several other popular methods. Sign up now and get a 100% bonus for up to $250 free, plus a personalized monthly bonus based on your activity the month before. The more you play in one month, the better your bonus will be the next month.

New MicroGaming Slots March 2011

MicroGaming has just been pumping out the new games lately, and four new slots will be released to MicroGaming casinos in March of 2011. I’m not even sure what the total number is up to now, they must be getting close to having 500 online casino games.

Eagle’s Wings looks like the best of the four with 25 paylines, stacked wilds that double each winning combination, and up to 60 free spins with all wins tripled. Free spins are triggered when three or more Lucky Eagle coin symbols land on the reels during a spin, click on the coins to reveal the amount of free spins awarded. Free spins can be retriggered at the original number of free spins awarded. This slot definitely looks promising.

Asian Beauty features 243 ways to win, a wild symbol, up to 25 free spins with all wins doubled, and a randomly triggered pick bonus feature. 10, 15, or 25 Free spins are awarded when 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols land on the reels respectively. I don’t care much for the randomly triggered bonus idea, I find they don’t trigger very often for me, but I’ll see how I feel about it after I get to play it.

Party Island is a 9 payline slot with wild symbols that double your wins, and 15 free spins with all wins tripled. Like most 9 payline slots, there isn’t a whole lot to say about Party Island except for the fact that you can hit some nice wins when things line up right.

Retro Reels: Extreme Heat is the third slot in the Retro Reels series, and this one comes with 30 paylines, a wild symbol, and up to 25 free spins. So far each slot in this series has had more 5 paylines than the last, if there is another one after this will it be 50 paylines? Also added this time is a wild symbol, which is nice to see. Still present is the Respin Feature, which I have mixed feelings about. Overall, I have enjoyed playing the other two Retro Reels slots and look forward to playing this one as well.

Check out the MicroGaming Slots page for my full reviews of the MicroGaming slots I enjoy playing, and some that I don’t. Play these four new slots and many more at these trusted MicroGaming Casinos.

Ruby of the Nile

Ruby of the Nile is a new MicroGaming slot released on February 7th, 2011. It features 20 paylines, double wild and triple wild symbols, and up to 20 free spins with all wins doubled.

When I first played this slot I kind of wrote it off and wasn’t going to bother playing it enough to write a review, but it started to grow on me after a while. It’s a fairly high variance slot, meaning decent wins don’t come very often, but when they do, they make up for all the crappy spins. What I like about it is the fact that all the highest paying symbols pay as left-to-right scatters, so they don’t have to line up on a payline.

A random number of Free Spins are awarded when the treasure chest symbol lands on the middle of the 5th reel. You are given up to 20 free spins, I’m not sure what the least amount is, but the lowest I have seen is 8. All wins during free spins are doubled, and the feature can be retriggered.

The Wild Symbols and high paying scatters are what makes this slot decent. The usual symbols of 9, 10, J, Q, K, and A all pay on the 20 paylines, but the higher paying symbols pay as left-to-right scatters. If you can get a few wilds to land with one of those symbols, the payout can be huge, and it has saved me a few times now when my balance was almost wiped out. See the screenshots below for paytable information.

Play Ruby of the Nile today at any of these trusted MicroGaming Casinos.
