Spirit of the Inca

Spirit of the Inca is a new online slot from RealTime Gaming with 5 reels, 25 paylines, expanding wilds, and a free spins feature. The great thing about this video slot game is that it has 5 progressive jackpots, so there are several chances to take home some awesome cash rewards. Spirit of the Inca is being offered at the top RTG online casinos and can be enjoyed for cash wagers or for free.

Regardless of your casino budget, you will be able to afford some spins on this game as it supports a variety of coin denominations. The available coin sizes range from $0.02 to $0.20 per payline, with the number of paylines fixed at 25, making the minimum bet $0.50 per spin and the maximum $5 per spin.

The exciting thing about this game is the Boiling Point Jackpots that are offered. There are five different available jackpot amounts on the game and they are all displayed at the top of the screen. Your bet size determines which jackpots you are eligible for. With a maximum bet of $5 per spin, obviously all jackpots will be available, anything less will disable one or more progressive jackpots. Like all other progressives, a portion of your wagers will contribute to the jackpots and make them go up, but you will only contribute to the ones that your are eligible for.

Play Spirit of the Inca now at Club World Casino!

Each jackpot will have a tipping point, which is a preset value for when they must be won. The jackpots can be won on any spin, triggered randomly with the chances of winning increasing with each spin, until a potential 100% chance if a jackpot actually reaches its boiling point.

Mini: Must trigger by $100,000
Minor: Must trigger by $150,000
Major: Must trigger by $200,000
Maxi: Must trigger by $250,000
Grand: Must trigger by $300,000

The game features an expanding wild that will cover an entire reel to create more winning combinations. The wild can appear on all reels and will take the place of regular game icons. The wild will also trigger a bonus round when it appears on the first and last reels. This can award as many as 25 free spins and multipliers.

The wild icon will trigger the Spirit of the Inca Feature when it appears on reels 1 and 5 during the same spin. When the bonus is activated, you will see 15 bonus symbols on the screen and will have five selections. The first three selections will determine the number of free games won, with 25 free spins being the maximum. The fourth selection will offer a multiplier between 1x and ten 10x and the final selection can give you a wild reel or an extra wild on each reel during all of the free spins.

There is also a scatter icon in the game which is represented by the Priestess. This symbol can also appear in any position and three or more icons will award a cash payout. The scatters will not trigger any additional game feature and the most that can be won is 100 times the bet when getting five scatter icons in a single spin.

You can find this game at any trusted RTG Casino found on this website.

The Elf Wars

The Elf Wars was released in December 2012 and can be found at these trusted RTG online casinos. This new five reel slot has 50 paylines, wild symbols, a progressive jackpot, several bonus features, and is part of the Rudolph vs Santa slot series that has been a main attraction at RTG casinos. Loaded with game features, The Elf Wars will not only provide you with many chances to win, but it will also offer hours of entertainment.

Bet sizes range from $0.50 to $50 per spin, making this slot enjoyable for most types of players. The number of paylines can not be changed.

There are many things that are going on in this game and players will find that there are tons of opportunities to win in addition to creating standard game combinations using the symbols. The game offers two different wild symbols, which are Santa and Rudolph. Both wild icons will substitute for regular game symbols to create winning combinations.

Just like the wilds in the game, there are also two scatter symbols. These are the Good Elves and the Bad Elves. The elves scatters will work as traditional scatters and do not have to appear on any particular payline. All scatter wins will be multiplied by the amount of the bet placed and payouts will begin with just two scatter symbols on the reels. You also get a single re-spin if two scatters land, giving you a second chance for the third scatter to land. When three or more matching scatters appear on the reels in a single spin, you choose one of them to reveal your bonus.

Play The Elf Wars now at Lucky Red Casino!

When the feature is triggered by Good Elves, you will win one of two bonus rounds, Santa Strikes Back or Jackpot Spins. With three Bad Elves triggering the feature, the bonuses are Rudolph’s Revenge or Rudolph’s Rampage.

During the Rudolph’s Rampage feature, you are taken to Santa’s ransacked toy factory where you pick from 8 locations to find 3 elves. You can win up to 50 free spins, all the way down to just 5 free spins. The less picks it takes to find all 3 elves, the more free spins you will receive. If an elf is found holing a red present, scattered elves act as wild symbols during free spins. If an elf is found holding a blue present, all wins are quadrupled during free spins. If an elf is found holding a green present, Rudolph will expand to cover the entire third reel during all free spins.

In the Rudolph’s Revenge feature, you are given 7 free spins with all wins starting with a multiplier of 2, plus the number of wild Rudolph symbols on the screen when each spin is completed. If 4 or 5 scatters triggered the feature, the scattered elves act as wild symbols during free spins.

The Santa Strikes Back feature, you are awarded 7 free spins with an initial multiplier of 1. During free spins some symbols will have candy canes on them; when a candy cane appears on a reel, it will light the star above that reel. When all 5 stars are lit up, the number of free spins will reset to 7 and the multiplier will go up by 1. This feature can reset up to 9 times, with a final multiplier of 10 for the last 7 free spins.

The Jackpot Spins feature, you are taken to a wheel with 6 segments which will spin up to three times. Each spin of the wheel can award an instant prize of up to 100x your bet, trigger the Santa Strikes Back feature, or award the Progressive Jackpot. Spins end if either the feature or jackpot are awarded.

This new game is a great addition to the Rudolph vs Santa series of slots. With an attractive theme, comical animations and some awesome bonus rounds, The Elf Wars remains a top selection for Christmas themed slot games online. This game is only offered in RTG casinos.

Battlestar Galactica

Battlestar Galactica was released by Microgaming in December 2012. This new slot features 243 ways to win, stacked wilds, free spins, unlock-able video content, and three different play modes. Obviously the theme is based on the Battlestar Galactica television series which, to be honest, I never really watched when it was on TV.

When you line up symbols that feature a character from the show, a video clip will play from the TV show with that character in it. Each spin of the reels will give you experience points which are used to give you a rank. As you increase in rank, you will unlock new video clips from the Battlestar Galactica TV series that play when you win. The higher your bet is, the more experience points you will gain per spin.

There are three different game modes that are randomly activated while you play, Normal Mode, Run Mode, and Fight Mode.

Normal Mode is what you start with when you first play this slot. The Ion Storm can be randomly triggered at any time during Normal Mode and it can turn entire reels wild, up to all five of them. This is similar to the Wildstorm feature from Thunderstruck II and the Wild Desire feature from Immortal Romance.

Run Mode can be activated randomly at any time; during this mode all wins pay from left-to-right and right-to-left. There is a Faster Than Light (FTL) symbol added to the middle reel during this mode. If the FTL symbol lands on the middle reel during a spin, that symbol will change to and random one from the paytable, and change every A K Q J 10 on the screen to that symbol. Big wins are possible if the reels have a lot of playing card symbols, and the FTL symbol changes to a high paying one.

Fight Mode can only be triggered during Run Mode. During this mode, random symbols can be turned wild at any time, and these wilds can also split in two to create more winning combinations. The Free Spins feature is also different when triggered during Run Mode, you are only given 5 free spins rather than 15, but additional free spins can be awarded during the feature.

The Free Spins feature is triggered when three or more scatters land on the reels during a spin. You are awarded coins for the scatter win plus 15 free spins with all wins being tripled. Free spins cannot be re-triggered.

You can play Battlestar Galactica today at any of these trusted Microgaming Casinos.

Break Away

Break Away is a new online slot game powered by Microgaming with 243 with ways to win, stacked wilds, rolling reels, and a free spins bonus feature. It is one of the 243 ways slot games that have become more of a staple as far as new games go by the software. This game, along with Octopays, are the newest games to be released by the software group and have quickly become quite popular with players, including myself.

The theme is hockey; who doesn’t love hockey and slot machines? I know that I, and many of my fellow Canadians, love a good game of hockey, mix that with a slot game and there are hours of entertainment available without even having to leave the house. The NHL and NHLPA are once again destroying a season due to greed on both sides, but we won’t get into that right now, let’s focus on this great new slot game.

The Rolling Reels feature comes in to play every time symbols line up for a win. After the win is tallied up, the symbols explode and new ones fall in. If they line up for a win, they will explode again, and the process continues until no winning combinations are found.

The wild symbol is only stacked on reels 3, 4, and 5 and is the game logo for Break Away. The wild symbols can make up reel combinations for all other symbols besides the scatter and once they are activated they create a very cool animation on the screen. That’s part of the charm of the game, great design and very well put together. Watch out for the Smashing Wild feature too, two hockey players will skate in from the sides and smash into each other, turning one of the middle three reels wild.

The Free Spins feature is triggered by 3, 4, or 5 scatters landing on the reels during the same spin. You are awarded 15, 20, or 25 free spins based on the number of scatters that trigger the feature. Not only will 5 scatters give you 25 free spins, it will also give you up to 125,000 coins depending on your bet size; with a $5 spin you would win $1250. During the free spins, the rolling reels feature kicks it up a notch. The first win on a free spin is not multiplied, but after the symbols explode and new ones drop in the next win is multiplied by two. The multiplier goes up by one each time symbols line up for a win, up to a maximum of 10x.

The coin denominations vary also so it’s a perfect game for just about any budget. Whether you are a low roller, medium roller or high roller you will find a bet that’s right for you. That’s what makes this game even more attractive; anyone can play it and any bet can win a huge amount. For full details and rules on Break Away simply click on the screenshots at the bottom of this article.

Break Away is fun, exciting and different from the every day slot experience. You can find this game along with many other games in the slot menu of any recommended Microgaming Casino found on this website.

Octopays

Octopays is a new online slot from Microgaming that has 243 ways to win with a unique and captivating under the sea theme. It’s not your average marine life theme and it’s definitely a nice change of pace from the everyday slot. The bonus feature offers free spins with random wilds and multipliers, and the coin sizes are perfect for any bankroll.

Bet sizes range from just $0.30 and can go up to $150 per spin, of course not everyone can afford a $150 spin but it’s nice to know the option is there. The max pay-out in the game with any size bet can be quite a win and is well worth the spinning even on minimum bet.

Now let’s get to the bonus feature. There are free spins of course which are activated by a wild, which is the baby octopus, on the second and fourth reel in a single spin. This will activate The Kraken feature and will award you with 12 free games. During the free spins the Kraken will randomly place wilds on the reels making it even more exciting and potentially more profitable. There is also a wild multiplier which is the Moray Eel symbol; should it appear will make all wins on the reels x2 and can greatly increase the chances of an awesome pay-out. The Kraken feature cannot be re-triggered for more free games.

My view on Octopays is that it’s a new and exciting addition to the slot menu at most Microgaming powered casinos and there is more than enough reasons to give it a try. If you like 243 ways to win or just like the excitement of a new gaming possibility then Octopays can deliver. Also, when you get free spins, you get to say “Release the Kraken!”.

Even though there is only one bonus feature, the theme and the pay-out potential is enough to give the game a good rating and although fairly new to the video slot menu a lot of players seem to enjoy it. There are always new gaming possibilities at Microgaming powered online casinos and should you want to find a place to play Octopays, check out our highly recommended casinos with this game and every other fantastic Microgaming powered slot.

Hairway to Heaven

Hairway to Heaven is a new online video slot game powered by Realtime Gaming software. This particular game can be found in the ‘Real Series Video Slot’ menu and is accessible in the download client of any online casino powered by the software. This slot has 50 paylines, an expanding wild, three different bonus features guaranteed to trigger within 125 spins, and progressive jackpots.

A new addition to the slot menu, Hairway to Heaven is similar in many ways to other games but with few added perks that make it just a bit different than others on the same software.

Don’t get me wrong there are quite a few different aspects that make this new game worth playing. First thing first, the theme. The theme is fairy-tale meets fantasy and fun. Hairway to Heaven is a take on the Rapunzel tale and the main characters are the Princess and the Prince who pay big pay-outs in the right combination, up to a huge 5000x your total bet. The Princess is the wild symbol and she expands on the third reel.

There are also major and minor progressive jackpots, just as you would find in other games from the software and these jackpots can be triggered with any bet at anytime. The minor jackpot is lower than the major but both jackpots are worth the spin and the pay-table wins are also attractive and well worth trying out a few spins, even for the jackpot potential alone.

There are a few bonus features worth mentioning too. The free games which are activated by three scatters on the reels and up to 20 free games can be achieved. There are different games depending on which Prince you pick when the features are activated. The Princess Pays feature offers 10 free spins with a triple multiplier and the Damsel in Distress feature is 8 free games with a possibility of re-trigger just by landing another Prince during a free spin. The Hairway to Heaven feature lands you 20 free spins with a growing multiplier and can bring you the huge 5000x with the right reel combo.

Wilds, scatters and other common slot game symbols appear on the reels so it doesn’t stray too far from the typical slot game at RTG, however with more pay-lines, more pay outs are possible.

This game is a fresh and fun way to pass the time at your favorite RTG powered casino and it seems like it could easily become a player favorite game as the pay-out potential is pretty huge. The theme is fun, the betting options are flexible and the jackpots are climbing by the second. If you like RTG and you love to try new games, find Hairway to Heaven at any of the recommended online casinos on this website.

Online Casino Opens in Saskatchewan

The Saskatoon Star Phoenix released a story earlier today (Nov. 5th, 2012) about a former Chief of the White Bear First Nation who is planning to open an online casino tomorrow, named the Northern Bear Casino. Bernie Shepherd plans on running this online casino from his office on the reserve which is about 150km southeast of Regina, and is doing so without permission from the federal or provincial government. At the time of the story, the provincial government had no comment other than the fact that they are monitoring the situation.

A few hours later, CBC News released a story stating that Donna Harpauer, the minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA), has said online casinos will not be allowed to be hosted in Saskatchewan. She apparently said this to reporters when they asked her about the Saskatoon Star Phoenix story.

This isn’t the first time that Shepherd has opened a casino without permission from any level of government. In 1993 an RCMP SWAT team raided a casino on the White Bear reserve that was started by Shepherd, who was chief at the time, and other residents of the First Nation.

They were charged with operating a common gambling house. The charges against him and the others were dropped, and the incident led to the creation of the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) which now has casinos in six communities in the province, including one at White Bear. Shepherd says he is opening the Northern Bear Casino without any involvement of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations (FSIN) or SIGA.

Running an online gambling company in Canada has always been illegal, but when the people running it are First Nations, things tend to get complicated. One side says it’s illegal, the other side says it’s within their treaty rights. Take the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (in Quebec) for example, they have been licensing, regulating, and hosting online gambling companies for over a decade. There have been questions about the legality, but no charges have ever been filed. The Kahnawake people have basically declared themselves as being a sovereign nation when it comes to Canadian laws they don’t want to follow.

The federal and provincial governments in Canada have been relatively quiet when it comes to these issues, and rather than fight against them, they have been opening their own provincially run online casinos. BC and Quebec have their own online casinos, and Ontario was supposed to have one earlier this year but I haven’t heard much about it. Saskatchewan has also been toying with the idea, but who knows when that would ever happen. Things tend to move slowly in this province.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out, I will definitely be keeping a close eye on the news tomorrow and will keep this story up to date with anything that happens. Based on how past events have played out, could this be the start of many Canadian online casinos run by First Nations? Will the government finally decide what the rules are when it comes to online casinos being run by First Nations? Stay tuned to find out.

Update: The Star Phoenix just ran a follow-up story elaborating on what was said by the SLGA minister during her interview with reporters. She was quoted saying that the Northern Bear online casino is “probably” illegal, but didn’t say whether or not any action would be taken. “Once I see it and what they’re doing, we’ll look at our options at that point in time,” Harpauer said. “We’ll have to get advisement, I’m sure, because there are legal issues.”

CBC News said she “shut the door on the idea” making it sound like immediate action would be taken if the online casino opened. They were talking more about things said six months ago by Harpauer when the SLGA was considering launching a provincial online casino, than what she said about this situation today.

Update – Tuesday Nov. 6th: The Northern Bear Casino has launched and is accepting new players. The casino is part of the GEOBet Gambling Network which is operated by Golden Arrow Entertainment, based in the Tsuu Tina Nation (Redwood Meadows, Alberta, Canada). GEOBet.com was launched in September 2012 and the site offers an online casino, online poker, and sports betting. So apparently the Tsuu Tina Nation in Alberta has been offering online gambling to the world for a couple months already, and I never heard much at all about it. GEOBet is licensed in several jurisdictions including Malta, Curacao, and Kahnawake.

Northern Bear Casino appears to just be a simple skin of GEOBet, because when you visit the website, everything you click on takes you to a GEOBet page with just a bar across the top that says Northern Bear Casino. The slots are powered by Microgaming software, and only the instant play games are available, I don’t see any option to download.

I don’t really see the point of playing at this new Northern Bear Casino, you might as well just play at GEOBet since it looks like you are playing there anyway.

By the looks of things, these casinos will likely be here to stay, and there will probably be many more popping up in First Nations all over Canada.

Phantom Cash and The Twisted Circus

Phantom Cash and The Twisted Circus are two new online slots that were released to Microgaming Casinos for Halloween 2012. I have played them both a fair bit already, and so far The Twisted Circus is my favorite of the two.

Phantom Cash is a 25 payline slot with wild symbols that double your wins, and an interesting bonus feature. The wild symbols are only found on the first and last reels, and they are the ghost catchers “Thurmingham” and “Carstairs”.

When three, four, or five scattered Haunted House symbols land on the reels during a spin, you will be awarded with the Ghost Zap Feature. You are given free spins that only end when you have captured 8 ghosts.

When a ghost catcher lands on reel 1 or 5, he will capture all ghosts that land on the same row and you will win 2 times your bet for each ghost captured. If both of the ghost catchers land on the same row, you are awarded 4x your bet for each captured ghost. These bonus wins are added to the regular payline wins during free spins. This feature can be re-triggered with three or more scatters, which will bring the ghost meter back up to 8.

The only thing that is adjustable on this slot is your total bet, which goes up to a maximum of $5 per spin. The number of paylines is fixed at 25, and coin value is fixed at one cent for a minimum bet of $0.25 per spin.

The Twisted Circus has 243 ways to win, wild symbols that triple your wins, a free spins feature with all wins multiplied by three, and a second-screen bonus feature. The bonus symbols that trigger the second-screen feature are only found on the three middle reels, while the scatter for the free spins is on all 5 reels.

The Circus Match Bonus is triggered when three bonus symbols land anywhere on the middle three reels. You are taken to a screen where you have 16 spots to choose from while trying to match three symbols for a cash prize. There are four symbols from the game with three of each to match, and each symbol has a different level of reward. There are also four wild symbols in the mix which substitute for all others, or if you can find three of them before any other symbols, you get the maximum reward of up to 42000 coins if you’re betting max coins per line.

The free spins bonus is triggered when three or more scatter symbols land anywhere on the reels on the same spin. You are awarded 13 free spins with all wins tripled. Since the wild symbol already triples your wins, all wins that use a wild during free spins will be multiplied by 9. This feature can be re-triggered and the bonus can also be triggered during free spins.

While Phantom Cash isn’t the greatest slot for high rollers, The Twisted Circus can be adjusted to a maximum bet of $120 per spin. The number of paylines is fixed at 243 ways (which costs the same as 30 paylines), but the coin value is adjustable from 1 cent up to 20 cents and you can bet up to 20 coins per line. The minimum bet is 30 cents per spin. You can find both of these slots at these trusted Microgaming Casinos.
