Wok and Roll

Wok and Roll is another good RTG slot. It features 25 paylines, two bonus rounds triggered by two different scatters, and a wild symbol (the chef is both wild and a scatter symbol that can trigger a bonus feature).

Getting 3 or more chefs scattered on the reels triggers the chef feature, with 10 free spins and an extra wild. If you get 3 or more chefs, extra wilds, or a combination of the two, you are awarded 5 more free spins.

Getting 3 or more Wok and Roll symbols triggers the Wok and Roll feature, with 8 free spins and a random multiplier of x2, x3, x4, x5, or x10! This feature can be retriggered by either 3 chefs or 3 Wok and Roll symbols.

I find the chef feature is triggered more ofthen than the Wok and Roll feature, but both bonus rounds can give you decent wins, see the screenshots below for my latest wins.

Triton’s Treasure

Triton’s Treasure is another fun RTG slot, and is fairly new, being released in March of 2010. It features 25 paylines, an expanding wild (king Triton himself) on the 2nd 3rd and 4th reels, and free spins that you can customize.

The free spins feature is triggered by three or more mermaid scatter symbols, you are given 5 free spins at x1 to start out with and you get up to 5 picks to add 5 more spins or +2 multiplier. Each mermaid on screen when the bonus was triggered gives you one pick. I’ve only ever had it trigger with three mermaids, so with my picks I usually add more spins twice and multiplier once, giving me 15 free spins at x3. If I had the chance I would go with another multiplier.

King Triton plays a large role in getting big wins on this slot, he expands to make the entire reel wild, and he does show up fairly often. I play this slot fairly often because it’s usually pretty good to me, I find the free spins feature triggers fairly often. There are also two progressive jackpots that are randomly triggered.

See the screenshots below for paytable information and a couple of decent hits of mine on this slot.

The Lord of the Rings

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring™ is a 5-reel online slot game featuring animations, images, and characters from the hit movie. With 243 ways to win, free spins feature with a random wild reel, stacked wild symbols and The Eye of Sauron expanding wild feature, this game is sure to please your eyes and your pocketbook!

Or so I thought, until I tried it for myself. It appears to be a very high variance slot, meaning decent wins are very hard to come by, but when they do it’s cashout time. After trying this slot a few times, I found it ate through my money quite fast, but I will go back and try it once in a while hoping to catch it at a time when it’s feeling generous.

The paytable is very weak in my (and many others) opinion, I think if you hit 5 of a kind of anything (even on a 243-way slot) you should get at least your bet back, but on this slot 5 tens returns less than your bet. You get excited to see some stacked wilds lining up during your spin, only to be disappointed in the end result since the only time you can get a decent win is by lining up 5 of a kinds with several wilds on the screen.

Free spins are triggered when three or more scattered rings land on the reels during a spin. You are awarded 15 free spins with a random wild reel on every spin, and three or more rings retriggers the feature. Even though the free spins bonus features a random wild reel on each spin, there should be a multiplier for those free spins like many other slots have. Having a multiplier in free spins would make up for the weak paytable, but since the highest possible win on this slot is already so high I guess they decided against it.

Some people have had good luck with this slot, but many others are not pleased with this highly hyped and anticipated slot from MicroGaming.

The Lord of the Rings online slot game utilizes Cinematic Spins™ – which allows movie clips to act as moving backgrounds behind the reels during spins. Win sequences and expanding wilds also make use of cinematic clips, instead of traditional animated graphics. I found that I liked the movie clips playing in the background, some people find them distracting, I think it is definitely a good looking game.

Update: Finally hit a decent win for the bet size. Free spins hit two big 5 of a kind spins, one with Frodo, and I ended up with $68 from a 30 cent bet. See the screenshot below.

Great Blue

Great Blue is a great Playtech slot, one of my favorites, but I like most slots that have stacked wilds. Great Blue features 25 paylines, stacked wilds on all reels that multiply winning combinations by two, and a free spins bonus feature.

Free spins are triggered by 3 or more scatter symbols landing on the reels during a single spin. Starting with 8 free spins at x2, you are taken to a screen where you pick 3 of the 5 shells in view. Each pick awards either more free spins or higher multiplier, you could end up with 33 free spins with a x15 multiplier!

This slot has potential for some very big wins, with stacked x2 wilds on all the reels it only takes one spin to put a smile on your face. The potentially high multiplier in free spins on top of that can really generate some large wins. Of course, with that potential comes higher variance, meaning the wins don’t come as often but they are usually bigger.

See the screenshots below for paytable information and one of my better hits on this slot.

Lucky Red Casino

Lucky Red Casino is another great RTG online casino backed by the well established and highly trusted Club World Casinos group. Don’t like the way the lobby is set up? Change the way it displays the games for you by selecting the layout of the games list, either bundled in folders, or have them all there and scroll through the list. I prefer to have the entire list in front of me rather than having to go in and out of folders looking for a game to play.

Cashouts are processed very quickly, sometimes within just a few hours on business days, and customer service is fast and friendly. Many different banking methods are available, including Instadebit for Canadians, and the few methods that are left for US players, who are also welcome at the casino.

Mayan Queen

Mayan Queen is usually a good slot to play at RTG powered online casinos.

It is a 25 payline slot that has a free spin feature, and a wild symbol (the Mayan Queen) on reel 3 that expands to fill the entire reel and doubles all winning combinations.

Free spins are triggered by three or more scatter symbols landing on the reels during a single spin, the wild symbol also substitutes for the scatter. You are awarded with 6 free spins where the queen stays in her spot to make the third reel wild for all 6 spins, free spins can be retriggered and they often do since the wild is already there.

Triple Twister

Triple Twister is one of my favorite RTG slots. It features 50 fixed paylines (must play all 50 lines), 9 free spins, and an expanding wild on reel 3 that triples the win.

Free spins are triggered by 3 or more adjacent scatters left to right, the scatters must be on at least the first, second, and third reels to get free spins. During free spins, if the twister lands on the middle reel, it can jump over to fill other reels with the expanding wild. Sometimes it jumps once, other times it doesn’t jump at all, but when it jumps twice for a total of 3 reels filled with the wild symbol you can expect a decent win.

I highly recommend playing this slot. You don’t win very often without a twister landing on the middle reel, but it normally lands often enough to keep you going before you hit free spins, and that’s where the big wins come in.

See the screenshot below where I won $170 from a 50 cent bet when the twister jumped twice to fill the first three reels. In the other screenshot with triple twisters, I was just unlucky that no higher paying symbols were on the reels, but it’s still a pretty good win.

Alaskan Fishing

Alaskan Fishing is my favorite MicroGaming video slot, mostly because it has given me the biggest wins, but it can be rough when it’s cold. It features 243 win lines, stacked wilds on all reels, 15 free spins with a x3 multiplier, and a Fly Fishing Bonus round.

This is the slot I was playing my first night at 32Red Casino when I won $800 on a $3 bet (see my Maple Casino Review to read about my first online casino experience). I didn’t get a screenshot of that win, but if you look below you will see some of my other wins on this slot, including my biggest win I ever hit on a single spin.

The Fly Fishing Bonus is triggered by getting a fisherman on reels 1 and 5, you get 5 choices between places to cast your line and catch fish that can win between 2x and 15x your bet. The best I have done on a $3 bet is about $150.

Free spins are triggered when three or more scatter symbols land on the reels during a single spin. You are awarded 15 free spins with a x3 multiplier. Free spins can be re-triggered and the bonus can be triggered within free spins, the bonus win is not multiplied by x3 multiplier for being in free spins.

I have had good luck with this slot, when it’s hot it can pay you very well, but when it’s cold it can eat your money fast. The stacked wilds seem to show up on the reels more often than in other similar style games, and the fishing bonus triggers fairly often. The free spins don’t seem to trigger very often.

Dance of the Masai

Dance of the Masai is a 25-line MicroGaming slot that features a wild symbol on the second and fourth reels, and 10 free spins with expanding wilds and multipliers.

Free Spins are triggered when three or more scatter symbols land on the reels during a spin. You are awarded 10 free spins and the wild symbold expands to fill the entire reel when it lands during a free spin. If the wild lands on the second reel all wins involving the wild are multiplied by 2, on the fourth reel all wins are multiplied by 4, and if it lands on both the second and fourth reels all wins are multiplied by 8.

I don’t play this slot very often, but it does seem to give you free spins frequently. See the screenshot below for my biggest win on this slot. I was betting $1.25 per spin and noticed that lots of scatters were showing up but not 3 at the same time, so I upped my bet to $2.50 hoping free spins would hit soon. Free spins triggered right away and I got up to grab a beer while they were spinning, when I got back there were still a few spins remaining and my win was already at over $1100! Not sure exactly what I hit, but that didn’t really matter to me at the time.

Rings and Roses

Rings & Roses is my favorite “Classic Slot”, featuring 5 win lines and a wild symbol. Line up 3 wilds to win 1000-6000 coins (minimum coin size is $0.25) depending on the winning payline, so playing with quarters could win between $250 – $1500. See my screenshot below to see my lucky spin of 3 wilds on the third payline, giving me $800 from a $1.25 bet.

Out of all the classic style slots, this one seems to be the most consistant, hitting 3 triple bars quite often to keep you going, and big wins to boost your bankroll.
